Given the increase in community spread of Covid-19, as well as the increased pressure on our hospitals and healthcare system, we are unfortunately back to only 1 support person allowed in hospital. This applies to Triage, Labour and Delivery, and Postpartum. Please plan to have only 1 support person attend your hospital delivery effective Oct. 1, 2021 until further notice. Exceptional circumstances and requests for an additional support person, such as a doula, will be considered on a case by case basis by management at the hospital site.
Patients and support people will continue to be screened upon entry to hospital and once on the labour and delivery unit for covid symptoms and risk.
We currently continue to allow one support person to attend your visits to our clinic. This policy will be reviewed regularly. Please avoid bringing children to your appointments when at all possible.
We are committed to ensuring the safety of our patients and our staff. As the indoor masking bylaw has been reinstated, we continue to ask you and your support person to wear a mask when you enter our clinic and for the duration of your visit.
Renovations of the Main Entrance at RGH are underway. An alternate entrance has been set up just south of the usual entrance.
Patients and support people will undergo Covid-19 screening prior to enter entering the hospital.
Patients in labour should skip the line and go right through to the entrance screeners. From there, you will be directed to the 6th Floor to complete your Covid-19 screening.
