COVID-19 INFORMATION FOR PATIENTS

Where can I find updated information about Covid-19 in Alberta?

Up to date information can be found on the Government of Alberta website.

WHAT MEASURES ARE BEING TAKEN FOR PREGNANT PATIENTS AT THE HOSPITAL?

  • You  and  your  support  person  will  be  asked  to  don  a  mask  upon  entry  to  hospital.    You  will not need  to  continue  to  wear  your mask during labour so long as you have a negative Covid screen.  Your support person and the hospital staff will however continue to don a mask for your entire stay.
  • Patients and their support person will be screened for symptoms upon arrival  and  at regular intervals after  admission.  Please  know  that  this  is  a  very  important  step.    If  you  are  found  to  be  at  risk,  there  are  accomodations  that  will  be  made  to  allow  you  and  your  partner  to receive  the  same  excellent  care,  in  a  safe  manner.

Information for support PEOPLE

The following are a series of rules that have been put in place to help keep patients, their support people, and health care providers safe.

  • You will be asked to complete hand hygiene and don a mask on arrival.    You  will  be  required  to  wear  your  mask  for  the  entire  time  you  are  in  hospital.
  • You will be screened for covid symptoms both upon entry to hospital as well as on arrival to triage.
  • You will  receive  a  green  arm  band  which  will  identify  you  as  a  support  person  and  thus  allow  you  to  regain  entry  when  you  return  to  pick  up  your  partner/the  patient.
